WFCL Project Target and Achievements

Establishment of District Coordination Committees on Child Labour (DCCs-CL) in the target districts to facilitate, coordinate and monitor the project interventions;

District Coordination Committees on Child Labour (DCCs-CL) have been notified under the Chairmanship of District Coordination Officers (DCOs), now Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 4 target districts and functional in each district.


Rapid Assessment Survey to assess the geographic and sectoral dimensions of Worst Forms of Child Labour in the respective districts;

Rapid Assessment Survey to assess the geographic and sectoral dimensions of child labour was conducted by the partner organizations. According to findings of Survey, the total No. of children involved in Worst Forms of Child Labour in four project districts was reported as 11,539.


Hiring of implementing partners to conduct survey and establishment of non-formal education & adult literacy cum skills training centers;

Process for outsourcing of conducting Rapid Assessment Survey and establishment of Non-formal Education & Literacy cum Skills Training Centers has been accomplished and contract agreements have been signed with 4 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) which are working as Implementing Partners (IPs) with the Project.


Establishment of non-formal education and literacy cum skill training centers in the clusters where majority of target children (age below 18 years) and their siblings prone to Child Labour can be enrolled;

Enrolment of 2000 children below the age of 14 years in non-formal education centers;

120 Non Formal Education Centers (NFECs) were established in 4 districts (30 in each district). These NFECs have been completed duration of 40 months on 31st of August, 2017. 4428 children have been mainstreamed; 601 children have been appeared in PEC (Punjab Examination Commission), 3827 children have been mainstreamed into Non-Formal schools of L&NFBED and formal Schools of School Education Department.

Enrolment of 2000 higher age group (14 to below 18 years) children in literacy cum skills training centers; and

The Project has established 150 Literacy cum Skill Training Centers (LSTCs) having six months’ duration (3-months for literacy + 3-months for skill training) of each center. Out of which, 150 LSTCs were successfully closed on their maturity dates in which 3751 adolescents made literate & trained in demand-driven skills.

Establishment of 20 Model Workplaces in target districts to demonstrate risk reduction as tool to promote healthy employment of young and adult persons.

20 Model Workplaces were established in all four project districts namely; Chakwal, Jhelum, Jhang and Layyah (5 in each district) to ensure Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) of targeted workers and its large scale adoption.
